A letter from our CEO
EM1 is not my first company. It will be my last.
After building and selling my first company, I wanted to find something I could spend the rest of my life working on. Whatever it was, I wanted to know I was helping people.
My research started with the weather and the rising count in billion dollar disasters. It’s what the meteorologists kept saying that stuck: “Our partners in Emergency Management…”.
That’s how I learned about our nation’s one-stop-shop for disasters: a patchwork of unsung, uncelebrated heroes helping prepare, mitigate, respond, and recover across our country.
With a broadening portfolio, and decreasing funding, Emergency Managers acknowledged they were not set up for success.
The tools that exist are old, overpriced, and built by people who didn't have to use them. We intend to change that.
If we’re successful, we’ll make the lives of EMs better and our citizens and communities safer and more resilient.
